Feathers of Lead

I fell in love with your shackled wings

Those blue feathers, stained with somebody’s blood

The same blood that smears your shoes

Pouring out like a waterfall from somebody’s heart

The blood and the death

That have unchained you

.

The soulless eyes, the interrupted stare

Trapped dead in the air

A vortex of forever

Ruefully intertwined

With a short-lived beauty

I remember your destructive hands

Taking the light away

.

So I fell in love with your shackled wings

Those blue feathers of yours

Stained with my blood

Turning into scarlet

I smile.

How romantic.

I’ve always wanted to fly with  you, my love.

And now, I can.
